this is a published poem by an unknown artist.
IN THE HOUSE CALLED HELL
In the house that they called hell, There lived a boy I knew so well, He sat a girl down upon his knee, And told her things he never told me,
I ran straight home to my bed, Not a word from my mother was said, When my father came home he looked left and right, But could not find me in his sight,
To my room the door he broke, To find me hanging from a rope, Beneath my feet there was a note:
"DIG A DITCH AND DIG IT DEEP, AND PLACE A STONE UPON MY FEET AND ON THE STONE PLEASE PLACE A DOVE TO TELL THE WORLD I DIED FOR LOVE."
