Real lotus oil can be quite pricey... upwards of $150/oz.
However, thanks to Scott Cunningham (author of Oils, Incense and Brews), there is a much cheaper blend of oils that gives off the same scent as lotus.
Equal parts rose, jasmine, white musk and ylang ylang will produce an exact replica for about a quarter of the cost.
Lotus oil has been a long used scent since the days of the ancient Egyptians. It's a gentle flowery scent that relaxes and brings calm to a chaotic home.

Hmmm I will have to check it out ... can't says I ever checked out Lotus before; I am leary sometimes because of my sensativity to certain floral smells - allergies suck! I have recently become an avid user of white tea oil - kind of a clean scent.

I have the same problem... perfume departments and me just don't get along. Lotus oil is one of the few I can wear. To use the oil mixture as a cologne, I recommend adding it to a base oil such as sweet almond or jojoba. Proportions would be 5 drops of the oil to 15 mL of base. Adding it to a base oil will avoid skin irritation and the base oils absorb and amplify the aroma.
