I was called to do a snake removal from a home in a nearby town on Sunday. It turned out to be a large female gopher snake. By the time I got there, the snake had crawled out of the tree and up into the base boards. We got it out and the guy gave me $101.00. That got me "in the mood"...for herping, that is! So, after work we went in search of rattlers. I found a baby that had been killed by someone the same day, and a live baby nearby. I didn't have much time to look, so I was satisfied with that. Here are the pics from that day. The Gopher snake that had invaded a gated community. I kept her and put her in with my male at home who wasted no time in mating with her. And here is the baby rattler of the day. What a cutie! Oh, and here is a buck, I saw on my way to Rattlesnake country. I knew I was looking in the right place when I saw this haha.

Looks like a good weekend! That gopher snake was beautiful, no wonder your male wasted no time!
